I believe that the sun glasses computer will be available in the next 5 years and result in a personal, private computing experience. A person will be able to view anything without others knowing what they are viewing. No more over the shoulder looking or snooping.
After this the "hat" will be used for direct computer controls. Even better that the air mouse, this device made of thousands of sensors will allow control of the sun glass computer by thought. There are toys available now that can do this.
The "hat" will be improved to an input / output device to transmit and receive the chosen sensory brain images. The 1980's movie "Brainstorm" shows the results of this type of technology. This will be available in 10 to 20 years. A person can transmit and store whole sensitory images.
After that, the sensors will be implanted. Together with high speed wireless internet, everybody will be linked.
The device was described in my "Dream Six" dream story. A permanent implant that provides all knowledge, entertainment, fantasy, travel, meetings, business, etc.

I wish the Media could give us real christian heros.
With the latest crop of anti-heros headlining the movies, television and books, a person wonders what the media is selling. The good witch, the not so bad vampire or were-wolf, the family friendly villain, are all the rage. It is a trend that is telling a half-truth. You can be not so bad and that you are better than those even badder. They are all bad!
I would like to see a real hero that is portrayed as good, honest, god fearing, christian that does not have to use violence or super powers to help people get out of the mess they have made of their own lives, or help them when they have been victimized by others. But in today's comic-book media that would considered very boring.
If this christian hero would use spiritual weapons, available to all born again christians, to solve problems and see through evil plots, while remaining balanced and relying on faith, this hero would be ideal.
The media would probably have to portray the hero either as a saint, a self-righteous fanatic, some type of guru, or a con man with a hidden agenda to get rich or get more sex/love. But this hero would not be like this. The hero would be an ordinary middle class person with a job, spouse, family, church, friends, neighbors, and a community.
The problem is that if this ordinary hero can do this good, why are you not doing the same, now?
I doubt that a book with this type of hero would be popular to today's media.

Some of the companies working on the 3D glasses system.
I checked out several systems from Vuzix's, Lumus Optical's, and Microvision's websites, and they are starting to come up with the system.
Vuzix is working on an AR system with cameras and the mini screen in front of your eyes goggles, but no air touch control operating system, yet.
Lumus has created an optical viewing system that looks great, but has not added cameras.
Microvision has a system for viewing portable devices, but no cameras or air touch controls.
They are slowly moving ahead, I'll give them a few years, or months. They probably have the system in the R&D departments now.

Steps to create the 3D monitor sunglasses
1 Use 3D viewing glasses and add a set of cameras to create the 3D interface system for a computer. Setup the software into an operating system driver. Then check out the airtouch interface.
2 Create a projector using laser diodes that reflect from the sides of the head to the center of the lenses. Adjust the optics so that the images hit the retina as a heads up display.
3 întegrate the display projectors, cameras, and blue tooth into a variable sunglass frame.
4 Redesign to integrate computer, gps, cell phone, wifi, solar power, ear buds, microphones, memory, and ssds into a stylish variable sunglass stand alone system.

A Gadget to go with the 3D sunglass monitor
First, add earbuds, mikes, and a solar recharger to the glasses.
The device is a computer in a wristwatch. With the bluetooth to the sunglass monitor as the interface all the computer processors, cell phone, gps, wifi, internet, memory, SSD, and digital watch functions can fit in a wrist watch. The band can have the solar recharger.

A device I would like to own - An inline 1080p recorder.
An HDMI recorder and switcher.
This device would have four inputs for HDMI and one HDMI output. A remote control would switch between inputs. The recorder would record one of the inputs and put the results out through a USB port to a hard drive, jump drive, network, or computer in a computer readable format. The recorded data could be read from the USB port back into the output port to the HDTV in 1080p. Thus computer, internet, or other device's streaming apps could be captured and replayed. Just like video recorders in the past.

A new way to interface with gadgets.
I would like to see this built in the near future. A pair of sunglasses with 3D heads up projectors bouncing off the inside of the lenses. The lenses would be adjusted for varying the amount of light getting through. This way a 3D monitor would be superimposed on the field of view. By varying the glasses to darker outside distractions could be eliminated.
Then a pair of cameras would also be mounted to cover the created field of view in front of the glasses. Your hands would be able to "air touch" the 3D monitor buttons and interface with the applications on the monitor.
When not being used they could be a good set of prescription or sunglasses.
Add bluetooth to make the glasses wireless.
